Mike Elizondo, who produced the band's 2009 album \u003cem\u003eHello Hurricane\u003c\/em\u003e, produced it, and most of it was recorded at his Phantom Studios outside Nashville.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt is a concept album. The songs follow one person through what turns out to be their last day, and Jon Foreman has said the question behind it was simple: if you found out today was your last day, how would you live it? He drew on Tolstoy and Dostoevsky for the idea of writing through characters rather than from his own life. The title comes from a lyric in \"Where I Belong,\" the closing song on 2011's \u003cem\u003eVice Verses\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe band announced the record at South by Southwest in March 2026 and released \"Wake Up, Mr. Crow\" as the first single on March 27, followed by \"Absolution.\" Jon and Tim Foreman wrote most of the album between them, with Elizondo sharing credit on \"Shake the Dust.\" It reached No. 4 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart and No. 25 on Top Album Sales.
