Alex Abrash cut the lacquers at AA Mastering from high-resolution digital files of Grundman's masters, and the record was pressed at Precision on 180-gram black vinyl in a reproduction of the original jacket.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAja was Steely Dan's sixth album in five years, released in 1977. Walter Becker and Donald Fagen recorded it with producer Gary Katz over a year and a half in six studios in Los Angeles and New York, with nearly 40 musicians and vocalists among them Wayne Shorter, Larry Carlton, Lee Ritenour, Jay Graydon, Chuck Rainey, Bernard Purdie, Steve Gadd, Joe Sample, Victor Feldman, Timothy B. Schmit and Michael McDonald.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and was the band's first platinum record, later certified double platinum. \"Peg\" reached No. 11, \"Deacon Blues\" No. 19 and \"Josie\" No. 26.
