Bernie Grundman newly remastered it from the soundtrack's original stereo analog master tapes, and the record was pressed at GZ Media. Eleven songs run six on the first side and five on the second.

The soundtrack comes from the 1984 mockumentary co-written and directed by Rob Reiner, in which Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer play members of the fictional band.
