Ten tracks run five to a side, from "Alison" to "Dagger."

Slowdive's second album was recorded in 1992. The band asked Brian Eno to produce it; he declined but spent a few days recording with them, and "Sing" and "Here She Comes" came out of those sessions. Neil Halstead wrote "Dagger" and other late songs during two weeks alone in a cottage in rural Wales, and Ed Buller mixed the album. Creation Records released it on 1 June 1993.

Souvlaki peaked at number 51 on the UK Albums Chart and drew mixed reviews at the time.
