The album was written in four sections of three songs, and on this double LP each section has a side of its own, marked on the sleeve and labels with Roman numerals I through IIII.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eQuadra\u003c\/em\u003e is Sepultura's fifteenth studio album, first released on February 7, 2020. The band went back to Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden, and recorded it with producer Jens Bogren between August and October 2019. Andreas Kisser has explained that the concept comes from the Quadrivium, the four classical arts of arithmetic, geometry, music and astronomy. Quadra is also the Portuguese word for a sports court, and Kisser has said that \"everyone grows up in a different Quadra, shaped by rules and definitions.\" The first section returns to the band's thrash sound, the second to the groove and percussion of the \u003cem\u003eRoots\u003c\/em\u003e era, the third to longer progressive writing, and the fourth to slower, melodic material.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDerrick Green, Kisser, Paulo Jr. and drummer Eloy Casagrande made the record; it was Casagrande's final release with the band before he left to join Slipknot in 2024.
