The twelve songs run three to a side.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eCold Fact was Rodriguez's debut album, released by Sussex Records in 1970. It was recorded at Tera-Shirma Studio in Detroit in August and September 1969, arranged and produced by Dennis Coffey and Mike Theodore. Coffey played electric guitar and bass, Bob Babbitt played bass and Andrew Smith played drums, with strings from the Detroit Symphony Orchestra led by Gordon Staples.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe record sold poorly in the United States but found its audience in South Africa and Australia, where, as MoFi recounts, Rodriguez was playing sold-out shows by the late 1970s. It reached No. 23 in Australia in 1978.
