Rhino issued it as a brick-and-mortar exclusive in its Rocktober 2026 program, marking fifty years since the record first appeared. The jacket carries a MONO mark in its lower left corner, and the yellow Sire label on the disc is marked mono as well.

Leon's mono mix first appeared in 2016 as part of the album's 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition. Its first standalone vinyl release came in 2023, a Rhino Red Edition on red vinyl limited to 3,000 copies and packaged with a red 7-inch single. The Rocktober issue puts the same mix on a single black LP.

Leon's tie to the record goes back to its making. He brought the band's demo to Sire president Seymour Stein, then produced the sessions at Plaza Sound in January 1976, finished inside a week for $6,400. In the booklet for the 2016 reissue he described the album's layered backing vocals as a blend of engineer Rob Freeman, Mickey Leigh, Dee Dee and himself. Sire first released Ramones on April 23, 1976.

Tracklist

Side One

Blitzkrieg Bop

Beat on the Brat

Judy Is a Punk

I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend

Chain Saw

Now I Wanna Sniff Some Glue

I Don't Wanna Go Down to the Basement

Side Two

Loudmouth

Havana Affair

Listen to My Heart

53rd & 3rd

Let's Dance

I Don't Wanna Walk Around with You

Today Your Love, Tomorrow the World

UPC: 081227802837
Label: Rhino
Release Date: 10.23.26
Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0718/8801/1422/files/ramones-ramones-2016-mono-remix-rocktober-2026.webp?v=1791192015
