The hype sticker on the front reads \"Exclusive on Yellow Flame Vinyl,\" sets out the running order side by side, and carries the Columbia and Sony Music marks above this pressing's barcode.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe album was first released on September 12, 1975, on Harvest in the UK, and a day later in the United States on Columbia, its first Pink Floyd record.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe cover photograph was taken by Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis on the Warner Bros. studio lot in Burbank, California. Stuntmen Ronnie Rondell Jr. and Danny Rogers shook hands while Rondell, in fireproof gear, was set alight; on the fifteenth take the wind turned and singed his mustache. In the band's anniversary announcement Powell recalls the brief he was given: \"Po, you're just going to have to do it for real.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe title song opens on the sound of a car radio being tuned, taken from David Gilmour's own car and passing through the finale of Tchaikovsky's Fourth Symphony. Gilmour plays twelve-string and pedal steel guitar on it.
