It was recorded in Deptford with Adam Jaffrey, the band's longtime producer, and follows the Greyhound EP of 2025 and the album Ultrasound, released in April 2024.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe announcement names The Band, Townes Van Zandt, Edward Hopper's hushed Americana and life on tour among the ten songs' touchstones. Drummer Matt Hodges has said the record has \"a lightness and a momentum to it.\" The first single, \"Kid,\" was written about longing for a child while on the road, \"Dream On\" followed it, and \"Brown Bread\" runs six minutes. Palace's own notes describe an album about watching a child encounter music for the first time and being overcome by gratitude.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe band formed in 2012. Leo Wyndham sings and plays guitar, Rupert Turner plays guitar, Matt Hodges plays drums, and Harry Deacon has played bass since 2018. Their debut album, So Long Forever, came out in 2016, the same year Palace Presents began as a monthly takeover of The George Tavern in London; Life After followed in 2019 and Shoals in 2022.
