The two LPs are pressed with a tri-color Sweet Tart marble effect, swirling pink, lavender and blue, and sit in white dust sleeves inside a tip-on, case-wrapped gatefold. Sam Rodriguez painted the new artwork, a diner scene, and a QR sticker on the package opens DOOM's MM..FOOD Diner, an augmented-reality experience.

Several songs reached the album by longer routes. "Kon Queso" first appeared as "Yee Haw" on a 2003 12-inch with the Molemen and was re-recorded with a more laid-back delivery, and "Vomitspit" reworks an earlier DOOM song, "Vomit," over a different beat. The "Kookies" on the first pressing used an uncleared Sesame Street sample and was replaced with a simpler version on every release since. Rhymesayers' own notes call Mm..Food the only album that officially stands as the follow-up to Operation: Doomsday.

Twenty years after its 2004 release the album was certified Gold by the RIAA and Silver in the UK, both in 2024. Pitchfork reviewed it again that year at 9.0, up from 7.5 the first time, and Stereogum named it the best MF DOOM album in 2012.
