Vincent Wojno engineered, the record was mixed at Scream Studios, and Eddy Schreyer mastered it at Future Disc. It shipped more than 400,000 copies worldwide and stood as the label's best-selling debut until Slipknot's first album. It reached No. 25 on the UK Albums Chart and charted in Austria, Germany, Scotland, Sweden and the Netherlands; the BPI certified it gold in 2020, and ARIA had already done so in Australia in 2004.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSeveral of the songs are tied to specific events. \"Davidian,\" which opens the record, draws on the 1993 Waco siege, and its \"Let freedom ring with a shotgun blast\" refrain is the line Real Gone Music's own notes single out. \"Real Eyes, Realize, Real Lies\" carries dialogue from the 1992 Los Angeles riots. \"Death Church\" addresses profiteering from religious soliciting, and \"I'm Your God Now\" substance abuse.
