Music On Vinyl first issued the compilation in 2018 as a numbered double LP on blue and red vinyl.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTwenty-one songs run across the four sides, from \"Need All My Friends,\" credited to the early spelling Lynard Skynard, through \"Free Bird,\" \"Sweet Home Alabama\" and \"That Smell\" to \"Last of a Dyin' Breed.\" \"Need All My Friends\" and \"I've Been Your Fool,\" which open side A, were among the band's first recordings.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMusic On Vinyl's notes trace the band to a group of high-school musicians in Jacksonville, Florida, who took their name from a strict P.E. teacher. Producer Al Kooper discovered them and helped shape their debut, which carried \"Tuesday's Gone,\" \"Simple Man\" and \"Free Bird.\" In 1977 a plane carrying the band to a show in Baton Rouge crashed; Ronnie Van Zant, Steve Gaines and backing singer Cassie Gaines were among those killed.
