It comes with new cover art and one addition at the end of the running order, \"No Thank You, I Love You, Goodbye,\" a song she wrote in the same period as the rest of the album and performed live for years before its first official release on September 9, 2026. She recorded it with two fellow Richmond natives, Adrian Olsen and her guitarist Alan Parker, and the three share the production credit. Olsen engineered and mixed the track, Parker plays electric guitar, slide and synth, and Dacus plays drums as well as singing.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNo Burden was Dacus' debut album. A Kickstarter campaign that met its goal two weeks early paid for the sessions, which took place in Nashville with Jacob Blizard and producer-engineer Collin Pastore and were completed mostly live in one day. EggHunt Records of Richmond first issued it on February 26, 2016, and Matador Records reissued it that September. The singles were \"I Don't Wanna Be Funny Anymore\" and \"Strange Torpedo.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe album holds a Metacritic score of 79 from 11 reviews. Magnet named it the best album of 2016, Paste ranked it eighth for the year, and Under the Radar ranked it 48th. Dacus followed it with Historian (2018), Home Video (2021) and Forever Is a Feeling (2025), which reached number one on Billboard's rock and folk\/Americana album charts.
