A stamped P at the start of the runout on both sides identifies the plant: side A reads P AL 31044-1AC and side B reads P BL 31044-1L. The sleeve has a printed barcode. That dates the pressing to between 1979, when CBS began putting barcodes on LP jackets, and December 1986, when Pitman stopped pressing LPs.

One LP on black vinyl. PC 31044 is printed on the front of the jacket, the spine and both labels. The back of the jacket gives the number as 31044, without the prefix, beside the barcode.

The album first came out in November 1971 as Columbia C 31044. The PC prefix and the barcode both point to a later run of the same catalogue number, not the 1971 first issue. From 1980 Columbia used the PC prefix mostly for lower-priced reissues of older albums.

Sittin' In was the first album by Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina.
