The single LP comes with a 20-page booklet carrying Sam Sweet's liner notes and Nocentelli's handwritten lyrics, in a package designed by Masaki Koike. Light In The Attic announced the repress as Nocentelli prepared to play the whole album at the New Orleans Jazz \u0026amp; Heritage Festival that May.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eNocentelli, a founding member of the Meters, recorded these songs in 1971 at Cosimo Matassa's Jazz City Studio in New Orleans, between session work and shows. George Porter Jr. plays bass, with Allen Toussaint on piano and James Black and Zigaboo Modeliste on drums. Nine of the ten songs are his own; the tenth is Elton John's \"Your Song.\" He has called it his \"country-and-western album.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe record went unreleased for five decades. Nocentelli left the tapes at Sea-Saint Studio, which was flooded when Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005. The tapes salvaged from the building were shipped to storage in Southern California and eventually sold at a swap meet, where collector Mike Nishita bought all 673 reels in 2018 and found one with Nocentelli's name on it.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLight In The Attic first released \u003cem\u003eAnother Side\u003c\/em\u003e on November 19, 2021, and it was nominated for Best Americana Record at the 2022 A2IM Libera Awards.
