The title comes from the Amtrak train she rode from Oregon to New York to begin an MFA at Hunter College. In March 2015, an illegally tapped gas line caused an explosion that destroyed her East Village apartment building; two people died, and Gibson, who was not hurt, lost her belongings. A few days later she wrote down the lyrics she could remember, and Askew coaxed her back into the studio for a spring-break recording session.
