The exception is \"Blackout,\" a duet with singer-songwriter Nolan Taylor, produced by Jake Finch and Collin Pastore. The players include Juan Solorzano on guitar, Aksel Coe on drums, David Crutcher on keyboards, Maggie Chaffee on cello and Laura Epling on violin, and Sierra Hull sings and plays mandolin on \"Orion's Belt.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ePruitt has said the album \"came from trying to figure out how to move forward in a world that feels aggressively chaotic and constantly in flux.\" Its announcement describes songs about transience and grief, with natural disasters running through several of the lyrics. \"Blackout\" began during a spring 2025 tornado outbreak that nearly hit her house in Nashville, when an ex reached out to make sure she was all right; it was released as the first single on June 12, 2026. \"The Aftermath,\" the second song, is the video above.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ePruitt was born in Atlanta in 1994 and began singing as a child in musical theater productions. She won the Songwriters Hall of Fame's Buddy Holly Prize in 2017 and has recorded for Rounder since 2019.
