Kill Rock Stars describes it as a love letter to her Irish heritage, eleven years in the making.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eKoOoLkOjAk produced the record, which was made at Stiúideo Cuan on the west coast of Ireland with the trad musician Charlie Lennon overseeing the sessions. Niamh Dunne, Lottie Cullen, Aimée Farrell Courtney and Lisa Canny of Biird play fiddles, flutes, bodhrán, harp and banjo, and Nash plays tin whistle, the first instrument she learned.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eNash's mother was born in Dublin, and Nash grew up in an Irish community in North Harrow. The songs draw on Irish folklore and mythology and take in family, forgiveness, colonialism, inequality and religion. \"Famine\" is her cover of the Sinéad O'Connor song, issued as a single ahead of the album.
