Polystar issued it in Japan on December 16, 2026, alongside first vinyl editions of \u003cem\u003eLeur L'Existence\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003eLe Roi Soleil\u003c\/em\u003e, the three mini-albums Kahimi Karie recorded for the Trattoria label in 1995 and 1996.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReleased on January 25, 1995, \u003cem\u003eMy First Karie\u003c\/em\u003e was her major-label debut and reached number 14 on the Oricon albums chart. She wrote most of the lyrics herself. Polystar's credits list Keigo Oyamada as composer and arranger of \"ELASTIC GIRL\" and \"ZOOM UP!,\" with further songs by Katerine, Tomoki Kanda, Gregori Czerkinsky and Bertrand Burgalat. \"ZOOM UP!\" drew attention through its use in a camera commercial, and Katerine's \"DIS-MOI QUELQUE CHOSE AVANT DE DORMIR\" became an ending theme for the Fuji TV late-night program \u003cem\u003eYoi Kuni\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\"ELASTIC GIRL\" was the lead track; its lyric is credited to Karie and Bryan Burton-Lewis. Polystar's notes credit the French-language lyrics and Karie's whispered vocals with the vivid impression the record made on the Japanese music scene of its day.
