Optimal Media pressed it, and the center labels still carry the original EMI number, EMC 3512. It belongs to the band's reissue of its 1980s albums, which Iron Maiden's website described as cut from the original analog master tapes and packaged in artwork identical to the first releases.

The album was Iron Maiden's sixth in the studio and the first to use guitar synthesizers, with Steve Harris adding bass synth. Martin Birch produced it in 1986: bass and drums were tracked at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, guitars and vocals at Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum, the mix was done at Electric Lady Studios in New York, and George Marino mastered it at Sterling Sound.

Adrian Smith wrote both singles, "Wasted Years" and "Stranger in a Strange Land," as well as "Sea of Madness," and Bruce Dickinson has no writing credit on the record. The album reached No. 3 in the UK and No. 11 on the Billboard 200 and was certified Platinum by the RIAA. Derek Riggs spent about three months on the cover, a cyborg Eddie in a futuristic city scattered with references to earlier Maiden songs, among them a street sign for Acacia Avenue.

Tracklist

Side A

Caught Somewhere In Time

Wasted Years

Sea Of Madness

Heaven Can Wait

Side B

The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner

Stranger In A Strange Land

Deja-Vu

Alexander The Great

Complete the Collection

Eighteen Iron Maiden titles at Evergreen Vinyl, this one included: Iron Maiden, Running Free, Sanctuary, Twilight Zone / Wrathchild, The Number Of The Beast, Run To The Hills, Powerslave, 2 Minutes To Midnight, Live After Death, Wasted Years, Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, The Clairvoyant, Maiden England '88, Fear Of Argentina, Rock In Rio, Flight 666 - The Original Soundtrack, 50th Anniversary Studio Album Collection, Part One: 1980-1992.

UPC: 825646248544
Label: Imports
Release Date: 12.2.14
Format: Vinyl
