It reached US stores on October 14, 2014, the same day as Killers and The Number of the Beast. United Record Pressing pressed it, INgrooves manufactured and distributed it, and Sean Magee cut the lacquers at Abbey Road Studios. The record ships in a plain black poly-lined paper sleeve.

Iron Maiden first came out in April 1980 on EMI in the UK, with Harvest and Capitol handling North America. Wil Malone produced it, credited as Will Malone, at Kingsway Studios in London, and the final mixes were done at Morgan Studios. Paul Di'Anno sang lead, Dave Murray and Dennis Stratton played guitars, Steve Harris played bass and Clive Burr played drums. It is the only Iron Maiden studio album with Stratton in the lineup.

This pressing keeps the original UK running order of eight tracks. The North American edition of 1980 added "Sanctuary," which is not included here. Harris wrote most of the album, Di'Anno shares the credits on "Remember Tomorrow" and "Running Free," and Murray wrote "Charlotte the Harlot."

"Running Free," issued that February, reached No. 34 on the UK Singles Chart, and the album climbed to No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart. It has since been certified Platinum in the UK and in Canada. Derek Riggs painted the cover, the first time Eddie's face was shown after the "Running Free" sleeve kept it in shadow.

Tracklist

Side A

Prowler

Remember Tomorrow

Running Free

Phantom Of The Opera

Side B

Transylvania

Strange World

Charlotte The Harlot

Iron Maiden

Complete the Collection

Eighteen Iron Maiden titles at Evergreen Vinyl, this one included: Running Free, Sanctuary, Twilight Zone / Wrathchild, The Number Of The Beast, Run To The Hills, Powerslave, 2 Minutes To Midnight, Live After Death, Somewhere in Time, Wasted Years, Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son, The Clairvoyant, Maiden England '88, Fear Of Argentina, Rock In Rio, Flight 666 - The Original Soundtrack, 50th Anniversary Studio Album Collection, Part One: 1980-1992.

UPC: 881034112477
Label: Sanctuary Records
Release Date: 10.14.14
Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0718/8801/1422/files/mbid-761b0e6f-da07-43a8-ad04-9c8686f5b140-40599690635.jpg?v=1791878286
