Ten tracks run five to a side, the split printed on the back of the jacket.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eKings Left Behind was released on August 16, 2019, the fourth full-length album from the Brooklyn septet Ikebe Shakedown. Colemine's notes describe a sound drawn from '70s soul, raw psychedelia and cinematic Western soundtracks, which the band itself calls Instrumental Soul. \"Unqualified\" was the track chosen to preview the album that June.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe band produced and arranged the album. Bassist Vince Chiarito recorded most of it at Hive Mind Recording, the Brooklyn studio he opened in 2017 with saxophonist Mike Buckley and another collaborator; The Big Takeover's review notes that the sessions were tracked straight to tape. \"The Witness,\" \"Horses\" and \"Hammer Into Anvil\" were cut at Thump, also in Brooklyn. Jim Bertini mixed the record at The Other Room, and JJ Golden mastered it at Golden Mastering in Ventura, California.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe jacket credits Barnaby Alter on drums, Dave Bourla on congas and bongos, Michael Buckley on saxophones and flute, Vince Chiarito on bass, Jason Colby on trumpet, Nadav Nirenberg on trombone, euphonium and piano, and Robin Schmidt on guitar. Eric Finland adds Hammond B3 and Wurlitzer, with strings from cellist Melody Giron and violinist Adriana Molello.
