Harris records as Grouper, Simmons played in Eat Skull and Bindeman in Eternal Tapestry. Linda's Head is the band's second album and its first in over a decade, following The Original Faces, which Kranky released in 2015.

Justin Higgins recorded the album at Old Standard Sound, with additional recordings by Harris. Josh Bonati mastered it and cut the lacquers at Bonati Mastering in New York, and Record Technology Incorporated handled the plating. Kranky's own notes place the record in the palette of the New Zealand pop underground and read the title as a refraction of meanings: a head in the clouds, a severance, a fictitious landform jutting into the sea.

The jacket holds an eleven-inch square double-sided insert. Side B closes with a locked groove at the end of "Canyon." Kranky issued the title track and "Dead Shark II" ahead of the album.

Tracklist

Side A

Faraway

Starline

Endless Sky

Linda's Head

Darkblue

Dead Shark

Side B

Dead Shark II

Black And Quiet Love

Stay With Me

Canyon

UPC: 796441825417
Label: Kranky
Release Date: 10.2.26
Format: Vinyl
