He was thirteen when she died of ovarian cancer. The three parts follow her through the places that shaped her life: New York, where she spent her childhood; Morocco, where she moved in her twenties and met the man she married; and New Orleans, where she raised her two children and became one of the city's first female judges.

Connick recorded the piece in Melbourne, at the Iwaki Auditorium, with more than seventy musicians drawn from Orchestra Victoria and the Harry Connick, Jr. Big Band, conducted by Jessica Gethin. The three movements run to roughly forty-eight minutes between them.

The work was first performed on May 22 and 23, 2026, at Connick's Carnegie Hall debut, on what would have been his mother's hundredth birthday. He had declined the hall's main stage throughout his career and chose that occasion to take it.

The album reached streaming and CD on September 25, 2026. This vinyl edition arrives on November 13 across two discs in a gatefold jacket, and adds a fourth part, About The Music, that the September digital release does not carry. Connick's companion book, Babe: Elaboratio A Tribute to My Mother, was published by Harper Celebrate on September 29 and sets personal photographs alongside measures from the score.

Tracklist

LP 1

Part I - New York

Part II - Nouasseur

LP 2

Part III - New Orleans

Part IV - About The Music

Complete the Collection

Two Harry Connick, Jr. titles at Evergreen Vinyl, this one included: When My Heart Finds Christmas.

UPC: 881453593703
Label: Mindfish Music Llc
Release Date: 11.13.26
Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0718/8801/1422/files/3000x3000bb_9db15320-efe9-49a9-8466-44c4cadbc32e.jpg?v=1793884494
