Joe Gastwirt mastered it, Tom Flye handled the mixing, and David Gans, producer of the Grateful Dead Radio Hour, wrote the liner notes for the digipak's booklet.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe bonus material starts with two instrumental studio outtakes from November 2, 1976, \"Peggy-O\" and \"The Ascent\", and a \"Catfish John\" outtake from the fall of 1976. Next come studio outtakes of \"Equinox\" and \"Fire on the Mountain\", and the disc closes on a live \"Dancin' in the Streets\".\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReleased on July 27, 1977, Terrapin Station was the Grateful Dead's ninth studio album and their first for Arista. Keith Olsen produced it, making him the band's first outside producer on a studio record since Anthem of the Sun. The basic tracks were cut at Sound City in Van Nuys. Strings and choir from the Martyn Ford Orchestra and the English Chorale were added later in London, along with Tom Scott on lyricon and saxophone. The album reached No. 28 on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold by the RIAA in 1987.
