The first run was a numbered 180-gram double album in rainbow foil packaging. This pressing keeps the original catalog number, RJRTA-14, and the same nine songs spread over four sides.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe band was a project Trey Anastasio assembled around one body of songs: Phish drummer Jon Fishman, bassist Tony Markellis and keyboardist Ray Paczkowski from the Trey Anastasio Band, with Jennifer Hartswick and Celisse Henderson on vocals. Anastasio's own account calls it the largest set of lyrics he has written entirely on his own, and the most personal. It began partly as a tribute to his close friend Chris Cottrell, who died of adrenal cancer in January 2018, and the album is dedicated to his memory.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe basic tracks were cut at The Barn, Anastasio's studio in Vermont, on April 7 and 8, 2018, with further work that summer at Sputnik Sound in Nashville and at Power Station and Trout Studios in New York. Anastasio produced. Vance Powell, whose engineering credits include Chris Stapleton and Jack White, engineered and mixed, and Pete Lyman mastered. The fourth side belongs entirely to \"Beneath a Sea of Stars,\" which runs a little over 23 minutes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe group took the album on a ten-show run in April 2019, playing a fixed song list on a stage designed by Abigail Holmes, whose earlier work includes staging The Wall in Berlin with Roger Waters.
