The disc ships in a printed sleeve inside a pocket jacket. An obi band wraps the spine, and the pack includes a 24 x 24 inch fold-out poster with the lyrics printed on the back. The runout grooves carry a two-part etched message that starts on side A and finishes on side B: "IF IT GETS ANY BETTER..." and "...IT'S GONNA GET WORSE." Art direction and design are by Morning Breath Inc.

Your Favorite Toy is the twelfth Foo Fighters studio album and the first to feature drummer Ilan Rubin. Most of it was recorded at Dave Grohl's home studio, with more work done at the band's Studio 606 in Los Angeles. The band produced it with engineer Oliver Roman, so this is their first record since Sonic Highways in 2014 not co-produced by Greg Kurstin. Grohl and Rubin cut the rhythm tracks live without a click track, and the rest of the band overdubbed their parts afterward. Mark "Spike" Stent mixed the record and Randy Merrill mastered it. Harper Grohl sings backing vocals on the title track, and Rami Jaffee plays theremin on "Spit Shine."

Grohl demoed dozens of songs. The direction came when ten of them happened to play back to back on one playlist, and the title track set the tone for the rest. Both the album and that song were first called For Good. Grohl renamed them after Wicked: For Good was announced. Four singles came out ahead of the album: "Asking for a Friend" in October 2025, followed in 2026 by the title track, "Caught in the Echo" and "Of All People." Grohl told Apple Music that the first side of the record plays like a set list. The ten tracks run about 36 minutes, and Metacritic gives the album a weighted score of 74 from 21 critic reviews.

Tracklist

Side A

Caught In The Echo

Of All People

Window

Your Favorite Toy

If You Only Knew

Side B

Spit Shine

Unconditional

Child Actor

Amen, Caveman

Asking For A Friend

*** Indie Exclusive ***
UPC: 199584421513
Label: Rca
Release Date: 4.24.26
Format: Vinyl
