Nicholas Wilbur recorded the piano, organ and tubular bells at The Unknown Studio in Anacortes in 2021; Dorji recorded his guitar at home in Asheville across 2021 and 2022; Coloccia added vocals and percussion on Vashon Island in 2024 and 2025. Scott Evans mixed the result at Antisleep in Oakland in June 2025 and mastered it. The two traded demos before final takes, and the label notes that Coloccia's voice is recorded without reverb.

The label describes the record as concerned with connection to land, and with land lost, partitioned and privatized; the lyrics came from phrases that arrived in dreams during a period of change — a drive through arid desert, explaining private property to a child, what one generation hands the next. It opens on the sung line "Cosmic Horror! I am nothing, I am no-one."

Coloccia founded Mamiffer and co-founded SIGE Records, and has recorded with Daniel Menche and Philip Jeck; Dorji's solo guitar records have appeared on a string of independent labels.

Tracklist

Excessive Yield

Short Lived Echo

Invisible Lines Between Imaginary Lands

Dawns Upon the Sea

Ashen Cinder

Fires Three

Silica's Last Word

UPC: 781661739262
Label: Whited Sepulchre Records
Release Date: 9.25.26
Format: Vinyl
