It was the first time the score had appeared on vinyl: two 180-gram discs in a gatefold jacket, with five cues on each side. A portion of the proceeds was pledged to The Journey Home Project, which connects donors with veterans' organizations.

The music comes from Peter Berg's 2013 film Lone Survivor, which follows a Navy SEAL team whose mission in Afghanistan goes wrong. Berg had used Explosions in the Sky recordings as temp tracks, and the Austin post-rock band went on to write more than 65 percent of the finished score. Steve Jablonsky, whose credits include the Transformers films and Berg's Battleship, scored the final reel. The band worked from Austin and Jablonsky from Los Angeles.

Jablonsky's four cues are spread across the set: "The Goat Herders" opens side B, "47 Down" opens side C, and "Letter Received / Taliban Attacks" and the title cue sit near the end of side D. The soundtrack was first issued digitally and on CD in December 2013 by Metropolis Movie Music and Back Lot Music, and its twenty tracks run about 65 minutes.

Tracklist

Side A

Warriors

Waking Up

Briefing

Seal Credo / Landing

Checkpoints

Side B

The Goat Herders

The Decision

Set Them Free

False Summit

Murphy's Ridge

Side C

47 Down

Axe

QRF En Route

Hunted

Gulab

Side D

Near Beheading

A Storm Is Coming

Letter Received / Taliban Attacks

Lone Survivor

Never, Never, Never Give Up

UPC: 819376090115
Label: Filmtrax
Release Date: 11.24.16
Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0718/8801/1422/files/1400x1400bb_03a641a1-3b90-474a-ae01-8ed465c8a866.jpg?v=1791758172
https://evergreenvinyl.com/products/explosions-in-the-sky-steve-jablonsky-lone-survivor-original-motion-picture-soundtrack-vinyl
