The performers are Elizabeth Fraser, Robin Guthrie and Simon Raymonde.

Ivo Watts-Russell, who founded 4AD, told Martin Aston in the label history Facing the Other Way that this was not only his favorite Cocteau Twins album but his favorite 4AD release of any kind, "by a long shot," and called it "the perfect record." One of its songs, "Road, River and Rail," was included on the two-disc compilation issued alongside that 2013 book.

Lawrence Hayward of Denim and Felt suggested the album's name, taken from a line in the song it shares a title with. Melody Maker had earlier run a lampoon of the group's habit of eccentric song titles, and the joke name that piece invented, "Crispy Fiver Blue," became that song's working title.

The record has since been placed at number 245 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time and number 18 on Pitchfork's Top 150 Albums of the 90s, first on both Pitchfork's Greatest Dream Pop Albums of All Time and Paste's Top 25 Dream Pop Albums, and it appears in the book 1,001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. It was voted 18th in Scotland's 100 Best Rock and Pop Albums in 2003, and BBC Scotland gave it an episode of Classic Scottish Albums in 2007.

Tracklist

Cherry-Coloured Funk

Pitch the Baby

Iceblink Luck

Fifty-Fifty Clown

Heaven or Las Vegas

I Wear Your Ring

Fotzepolitic

Wolf in the Breast

Road, River and Rail

Frou-Frou Foxes in Midsummer Fires

Complete the Collection

Evergreen Vinyl carries five Cocteau Twins albums, counting this one: Blue Bell Knoll, Four-Calendar Café, Garlands, Treasure.

UPC: 652637001228
Label: 4ad
Release Date: 6.3.03
Format: CD

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0718/8801/1422/files/cocteau-twins-heaven-or-las-vegas-cd.png?v=1792591227
