Amusement is the label Nigro created for Roan in 2023, with Island providing major-label support. The song is her first in the country genre, built on traditional instrumentation including fiddle. Roan first performed it live during her debut as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live on November 2, 2024, and teased the release with billboards across the United States.
