Every song on it references birds in some way, a brief strict enough to take in \"Chicken Today and Feathers Tomorrow.\" Ralph Burns arranged the program and conducted the orchestra across three New York sessions on August 4, 6 and 8, 1958.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBen Webster plays tenor saxophone throughout, credited on the original jacket only as \"a tenorman,\" with Al Cohn adding a second tenor on six tracks. The band also includes Marky Markowitz on trumpet, Don Abney on piano and Aaron Bell on bass, with a French horn section on half the program.
