Earache presses the remastered album on a single LP of purple and pink marble vinyl, and an RSD Essential sticker on the front of the jacket names the color.

Heartwork is the fourth Carcass album. It was recorded at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool between May 18 and June 21, 1993, with Colin Richardson producing, and Earache released it in the UK on October 18 of that year. The lineup was Jeff Walker on bass and vocals, Bill Steer and Michael Amott on guitars and Ken Owen on drums. Amott left the band once the recording was finished.

The sculpture on the cover is H. R. Giger's Life Support 1993, an update of a piece he first made in the late 1960s, and the video for the title track above stages a real-life version of it. The songs are shorter and more melodic than the band's earlier records, which Walker has put down to a deliberate move toward songs that wandered less. Decibel inducted the album into its Hall of Fame in May 2013 as the hundredth entry, and Rolling Stone placed it at No. 51 on its 2017 list of the 100 greatest metal albums.

Tracklist

Side A

Buried Dreams

Carnal Forge

No Love Lost

Heartwork

Embodiment

Side B

This Mortal Coil

Arbeit Macht Fleisch

Blind Bleeding the Blind

Doctrinal Expletives

Death Certificate

Complete the Collection

Two Carcass titles at Evergreen Vinyl, this one included: Necroticism - Descanting The Insalubrious.

UPC: 5055006909777
Release Date: 4.18.26
Format: Vinyl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0718/8801/1422/files/Carcass_-_Heartwork_C2_A0_1500x1500_c2f1af32-9df1-4aa7-a8d2-9a5235437b37.jpg?v=1791878312
