We are selling it as what it is rather than as an authorized reissue.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe album itself is Veloso's first solo record and his second overall, after \u003cem\u003eDomingo\u003c\/em\u003e with Gal Costa the year before. He cut it in 1967 and Philips issued it in Brazil in 1968 in mono, as R 765.026L in the label's série De Luxe. Júlio Medaglia, Damiano Cozzella and Sandino Hohagen wrote the arrangements. Gal Costa sings on \"Clara\".\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eVeloso wrote with a wide circle here: Capinam on \"Clarice\", Gilberto Gil on \"No Dia Que Eu Vim-me Embora\" and \"Eles\", Ferreira Gullar on \"Onde Andarás\", Rogério Duarte on \"Anunciação\". \"Soy Loco Por Ti, América\" is by Capinam, Gil and Torquato Neto.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\"Alegria, Alegria\" came fourth at the 1967 Record festival in São Paulo, backed by the rock band The Beat Boys and booed at first for its electric guitars. \"Tropicália\" was named after an installation by Hélio Oiticica — the title was suggested by the film producer Luiz Carlos Barreto once the song was already written, and Veloso had not heard of Oiticica at the time.
