Branford Marsalis leads his quartet of pianist Joey Calderazzo, bassist Eric Revis and drummer Justin Faulkner, with Dianne Reeves on vocals.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReeves sings the six standards from \u003cem\u003eJohn Coltrane and Johnny Hartman\u003c\/em\u003e, the Impulse album recorded at Van Gelder Studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, on March 7, 1963, and produced by Bob Thiele: \"They Say It's Wonderful,\" \"Dedicated to You,\" \"My One and Only Love,\" \"Lush Life,\" \"You Are Too Beautiful\" and \"Autumn Serenade.\" The quartet takes three Coltrane compositions as instrumentals, \"Big Nick,\" \"26-2\" and \"Central Park West,\" the last a duo for Marsalis on soprano saxophone and Calderazzo. \"They Say It's Wonderful\" was the album's first single.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe recording was made at Spivey Hall, on the Clayton State University campus in Morrow, Georgia, with Rob Hunter engineering. \"Joey and I played duos in that venue in 2012, and we were shocked by the quality of the room's sound,\" Marsalis has said.
