Sessions ran at Long Pond in the Hudson Valley and Henson in Los Angeles, among other rooms, and Emmylou Harris's Wrecking Ball (1995) was named as an inspiration. The title track came out as the lead single on September 3, 2025, alongside a video directed by Floria Sigismondi.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHer longtime bandmates Phil and Tim Hanseroth play on the record, with Josh Klinghoffer, Chad Smith, Matt Chamberlain, Rob Moose, Blake Mills and Mark Isham. Elton John plays Rhodes piano on \"You Without Me,\" which he co-wrote with Carlile, Watt and Bernie Taupin. \"Church \u0026amp; State\" was written on the night of the 2024 US presidential election and quotes Thomas Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptists. Serban Ghenea mixed the album.
