Bobby Womack produced it with Andrew Loog Oldham and James Gadson, with Otis Smith as executive producer and Barney Perkins mixing. Patti LaBelle sings three duets with Womack, and the credits also include George Benson and Wilton Felder.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWomack wrote most of the songs with Jim Ford, while Chris Brubeck wrote \"It Takes A Lot Of Strength To Say Goodbye\" and Cecil and Linda Womack wrote \"I Wish I Had Someone To Go Home To.\" The LaBelle duet \"Love Has Finally Come At Last\" spent 17 weeks on Billboard's Hot Soul Singles chart and rose to No. 3, and NME named \u003cem\u003eThe Poet II\u003c\/em\u003e its album of the year for 1984.
