Guitarist Ronan Crix has said they arrived with only about half the record written; his bandmate Alex Henery called it "the most chaotic process we have ever gone about writing a record," and the band stayed in the studio until four in the morning on the first night, writing the rest of it.

Run For Cover released the album on October 23, 2012, with Andrew Fisher on vocals and guitars from Crix and Henery. Basement had announced a hiatus months before it arrived and played only a short run of release shows before stepping away.
