The records come in a gatefold picture sleeve with printed lyric inner sleeves, and the shrink wrap carries a sticker with the band name and title at the front upper left.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe layout follows the original 2007 double LP, which put the album on three sides at 180 grams with an etching on side four. This edition is pressed at 150 grams, and its second inner sleeve drops the mergerecords.com and sonovoxrecords.com addresses printed on the first run.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMost of the album was recorded in the second half of 2006 at the Petite Église, a former church in Farnham, Quebec, that the band bought and renovated after touring Funeral. Michael Pärt produced additional sessions in Budapest with the Budapest Film Orchestra and a military men's choir, and Nick Launay mixed the record with engineer and co-producer Marcus Strauss. Alongside the orchestra and choir, the arrangements use hurdy-gurdy, mandolin, accordion and pipe organ. It was the first Arcade Fire album with drummer Jeremy Gara, and the first with violinist Sarah Neufeld in the core line-up.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eReleased by Merge in March 2007, Neon Bible debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and at No. 1 in Canada and Ireland. It was a finalist for the 2007 Polaris Music Prize, was nominated for Best Alternative Album at the 50th Grammy Awards, and won the 2008 Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year.
