Its notes frame the album around one question: what a Ghanaian producer in 1976 might have made if he set out to cut an American disco record for his hometown. The music mixes Afrobeat, funk and disco, and it was recorded to tape. Younge composed all of it and produced, recorded and mixed it at Linear Labs Studios in Los Angeles. He also plays electric bass, electric guitars, organ, Fender Rhodes, monophonic synthesizer and percussion.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eAndy Biney plays drums. The horn and flute section includes David Urquidi and Danny Janklow on baritone saxophone, Scott Mayo on alto, Katisse Buckingham and Ashley Jarmack on flute, Khristian Foreman and Erm Navarro on trombone, and Tatiana Tate on trumpet. Younge wrote the lyrics, which are sung by Yeko Ladzekpo-Cole, Beatrice Lawluvi, Mikaela Elson and Erinn Horton.
