The artist's Bandcamp sells it as a limited edition and packs it with a 4x6 postcard insert that carries the credits and download information. The only other edition of the album is the CD.

The album is Abram Shook's third, after Sun Marquee (2014) and Landscape Dream (2015). Western Vinyl describes its production as more intimate and organic than those two records. Shook produced it with Christopher Cox and Grant Johnson, the Tosca String Quartet played the strings, and Noah Georgeson mixed it. Georgeson is known for his work with Joanna Newsom, Devendra Banhart and Andy Shauf. The NW Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported that it was the first Shook album to use string arrangements, and that the songs followed the end of an eleven-year relationship.

The label's notes cite David Bowie as an inspiration, and the Brazilian album Clube da Esquina by Milton Nascimento and Lô Borges as a touchstone. Outside his own records, Shook has toured as a member of Shearwater since 2014.

Tracklist

The Hours

Eventually

Lies

Divinity

Red Lines

Machinery

No Return

Device

Lisbon

Quiet Side

UPC: 751937438410
Label: Western Vinyl
Release Date: 6.16.17
Format: Vinyl
