George Clinton, Fuzzy Haskins, Calvin Simon, Grady Thomas and Ray Davis are the voices on it. Ruth Copeland and Clinton produced, Lawrence Horn engineered, and Bob Dennis cut the master. Invictus had been set up by the songwriting team of Holland-Dozier-Holland after they left Motown, and its roster also carried Freda Payne, Chairmen of the Board and Copeland herself.

Demon Records describes the album as a diverse set of gospel, soul, funk, rock and country arrangements, with accompaniment running from heavy electric guitar fuzz to acoustic passages and bagpipes, and notes that tracks from it have since been sampled by De La Soul, NWA and DJ Shadow. The label places the record as the genesis of the P-Funk that produced Maggot Brain, Mothership Connection and One Nation Under A Groove.

Tracklist

Side A

I Call My Baby Pussycat

Put Love In Your Life

Little Ole Country Boy

Moonshine Heather

Oh Lord, Why Lord / Prayer

Side B

My Automobile

Nothing Before Me But Thang

Funky Woman

Livin' The Life

The Silent Boatman

UPC: 5014797914612
Label: Demon Records
Release Date: 3.5.27
Format: Vinyl
