The program has two Jamal originals, the title track and \"Patterns,\" along with \"I Love Music,\" a new piece by Emil Boyd and Hale Smith. Rounding it out are three then-recent jazz compositions (Herbie Hancock's \"Dolphin Dance,\" Oliver Nelson's \"Stolen Moments\" and Antonio Carlos Jobim's \"Wave\") and the 1931 Harry Warren standard \"You're My Everything.\"\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eScott Yanow's AllMusic review describes a denser, more adventurous Jamal in 1970, one who had kept his musical identity. Pharoah Sanders plays flute, bass clarinet and tenor saxophone, Jimmy Garrison plays bass and Rashied Ali plays drums, and all three had been members of John Coltrane's last quintet.
